Behr one coat paint & primer

Bought 2 gallons of the above...did everything suggested....did NOT cover white on white I must put on a second coat....what gives? I am not a happy camper...I am 77 years old and 2 coats of paint is more than I can handle...you advertised that one coat would cover using the primer and paint combo....this is NOT true....false advertising and a very unhappy person sits here today....what can you do for me? I probably have to hire someone now to get up and down on the ladder and paint the second coat. Please advise.

Ditto: I have been a professional painter for 45 years. This Behr stuff is trash.

Takes at least 2 coats to cover a lighter wall.

Benjamin Moore Paint Dealer

Yeah the paint & primer in one is an ad gimmick. Kinda like a "previously owned" car instead of a "used" car.

It just sounds better, like you are getting something extra. Any quality 100% acrylic paint will prime itself as you apply it. If there are specific areas that you want to prime--smoke stains, nicotine, mildew, etc., do yourself a favor and actually use a quality primer first.

Moreover, and I am obviously biased as a competitor, Behr paint is not a high quality product.

It has great advertising thru Home Depot, but it is not a good paint. Any professional painter who pushes for Behr I always question their motives. Most wont even bid a job with Behr as the paint.

There are good paint companies out there--Ben Moore, PPG, Porter, Sherwin Williams for example.

But, as a general rule, if you can buy it in a hardware store & not have to go to an actual paint store it is probably ***. Just My Opinion of course.

Behr paint with primer does not really have primer in it they say that on there cans so you would buy it because it says it has primer in it but it really does not.

Deck Over, Your Not Kidding

I have a 16 by 20 deck that 2 of us spent hours cleaning and prepping to do our deck in October. In march or April we went out to get it ready for spring and it was a mess. Peeled back down to the wood near the door and the boards on the outside part of the deck . The stairs are also a mess. They want to email me which I havent seen. Then I have to buy the cleaner and clean it ???? Then return the receipt for the deck over and the cleaner sothat they can send me the new stain.now we have very busy summer plans as we both work and on the weekends we are out of town. When are we supposed to do this AGAIN. Ia our time not valuable?

Behr Interior Ultra Premium Paint Is Horrible!

I spent a ton of money on interior trim work, everything from big crown, window casing, door casing, pocket doors, french doors, decorative posts, etc. My painter spent a week just on prep then applied an oil primer that turned out great. He completely sanded the primer then sprayed on this Behr Ultra Premium paint. It was so watery that it began to run and drip everywhere 10 minutes after spraying. It also made his gun spit and splatter like crazy. He stopped before finishing the job because he saw how much re-work he would have. The painter was dead against using Behr but I insisted because I had a gift card and a rebate, what a mistake I made! Now I am paying him to sand out the drips and I bought high quality paint of his choice. Take my advice and stay away from Behr!

Deckover paint peeling

I did a 8'x10' platform last fall all according to the guidelines. I was encouraged enough to have my 10' x 50' deck done last month by a pro painter because the previous job blew out my knee. I looked at the previous deck job and I find that it has peeled in spots. If this happens to the big deck I am going to be extremely angry and vindictive all over social media. I no longer have any paint left from the initial job. Yadda, yadda, yadda, Yadda, yadda, yadda, Yadda, yadda, yadda, Yadda, yadda, yadda,,Yadda, yadda, yadda, yadda, yadda,

Review about Peeling Off Paint from Chatsworth, Georgia

I followed the instructions on the can of Behr deck over and put it on my porch after 3weeks I noticed some slight peeling. today I rinsed it off and it was peeling very bad all over. The porch was cleaned as the instructions said and it was dry. Tonight I read all the complaints about this product and the were all the same I will never use your products again. The 3gals I got for my patio are going back to the store tomorrow. Thanks Behr

I spent three hours applying Behr clear low luster sealer on my paver patio. The pavers were dry because I waited for three days of hot sun to be sure they were dry.

I did not apply in direct sunlight and the temperature was in the range suggested.I applied with a roller of the knapp recommended and everywhere the roller overlapped the previous area, there is a milky white streak.

I paid over $50 for this sealer and it has made my patio a mess. I am a pissed cunsumer.

I am a paint specialist from Home Depot and would like to ask you to give it a few days to completely dry. It can take paint up to 30 days to completely dry as it dries from the outside in.

It should turn clear. If not, call the 800 number to behr and ask them.

They stand behind their products really well! I hope this helps.

A Behr to work with and it Behrly covers the walls.

I bought Behr interior satin paint based upon the excellent ratings and recommendation of consumer reports (CR). I had used it in the past and didn't like it all that much but figured I would give it a try. It is awful. My walls are streaked, the coverage is poor and I have never had to work so hard to get paint on a wall. The guy at Home Depot (HD) sold me a roller kit with a 3/8" nap... Don't know if 1/4" would work better. Regardless, on beige walls CR suggests only one coat of this paint would be needed. Wrong. On the upside, I only bought a gallon. Tomorrow I will take the color swatch to Porter Paints or Sherwin Williams for matching and rest assured I will lodge a complaint with CR and HD when my project is completed.

Behr mgmt. a joke!

Purchased their interior texture paint (which Home Depot no longer carries). After it dried all the texture (like a sand texture) literally fell off the walls with the slightest touch. Now there is texture in some places and none in others. Spoke to Mr.

Roy (claims) said this was normal but suggested I get 3 quotes and send them to him. He disagreed with the price of the quotes so now Behr is sending out an adjuster from a NEUTRAL 3RD PARTY only York is not neutral. Spoke to Ms. Jeanette at York and she stated they work on BEHALF OF BEHR.

6 months of my work gone in just an hour. I will never again buy BEHR products.

What a joke! I'm going to file a BBB report.

Behring Deckover Paint Peeling After One Season

We were told by the Home Depot sales people that this product was tested on docks in Quebec and thought that if it stood up to a harsher winter like those in Quebec it would be fine for our deck. We were very careful preparing the deck, applied the deck over and even waited longer before walking on it. It seemed fine for the rest of the season but this season we have paint peeling everywhere and it looks terrible! It is coming off in large spots everywhere on the deck and even when you walk across it! Save your money.

Had to repaint 3 months later

Painted with Behr paint, I used two coats. This paint easily marked any little scrape would leave a mark. It also did not wipe clean at all and seemed to have a very poor finish, even though it was a semi gloss. I also seemed to have a problem with trying to touch it up, could,t get a match. I finally had to give up and repaint just three months after painting. I would never waste my money on this paint again. The price of this paint also does not reflect how poor a job it did. I thought I was buying a top quality paint, live and learn.

Peeled after one winter...twice!

I originally did my deck two years ago with the 15 year guarantee stain, it was coming up in a year. I went back to Home Depot and complained about it in the fall and was told to come back and see me in the spring and get a great deal. I did come back and the person who helped me was no where to be found. This time I bought the 5 year stain and here we are it's spring and the stuff is coming off my deck. This product is ***, it's expensive and does not do what it says it will do. Since when did lying become a part of doing business? I wrote BEHR 2 years ago and like everyone else on the internet they never answer their email. This is a terrible product and should be taken off the market. It has cost you, Home Depot a Customer....

Behr Premium Ultra Paint & Primer is Ultra bad

This is the worst interior paint I have ever used. The paint is drippy. A job I would normally do in one day with one coat of Benjamin Moore paint took two days, 2 coats and much touch up on a third day to get rid of drips. The paint doesn't blend into itself; if you miss a spot after it dries, you have to repaint the whole area. We used the eggshell finish(their lowest sheen) and it was much too shiny. We have an older home and the shine highlighted every defect. Benjamin Moore maintains a stipple which hides defects, this Behr stuff dries to a totally flat surface (with dribbles) even with a 3/8 " roller. I have been painting for 38 years and I will never use this stuff again.
