I purchased Behr Deck Stain guaranteed to last 10 years if I used their cleaner...which I did. I applied it late summer according to directions and the next Spring, it had mostly flaked off leaving my deck unprotected.
I filed a complaint with Behr and they would only allow me $400 for paint remover and nothing to replace the stain that didn't work. Not only that, I am 80 years old now and just had a pacemaker put in and am not able to redo the deck myself. I thought that it would be the last time I would have to stain the deck. I can't believe companies can make a claim guaranteeing 10 years and then weasel out of everything with excuses such as probably too hot, too cold, too wet, can't make out the receipt, didn't use 2 coats, etc.
etc. none of which were true.
This is a large deck approximately 20" X 30" plus a side deck and reading nook. I am ready to sue.Be
