We live in the Georgia Mtns. and our home is 10 years old. We decided to use deckover for our deck based upon the ads about how it seals and fills in cracks in wood decking surfaces. We had the deck commercially pressure washed and waited a few weeks to be sure the wood was thoroughly dried. We hired a professional painter from Home Depot's contractor list to apply the deckover early last Fall when the temps were within the recommended range.
All looked good at first but it didn't take long before the cracks in the wood deck floor became visible again. Now the Deckover is peeling from the rails. We regret we ever bought this product. Family in New York have told us that they are having the same experience.
Needless to say that using Deckover has been both an expensive and very disappointing experience for us. Based upon this experience we've lost confidence in the quality of Behr paint products.
