Painted Deckover on a porch that had previously been painted with Behr porch paint. Painted it at about 70F in the shade.

As the sun came over the house and hit the paint, large blisters formed while I watched. The paint is ruined. This paint has a very high ammonia content and ammonia forms gas. The paint is also very thick and skins over before it hardens down.

What is happening is that the ammonia outgasses from the paint but cannot escape because it is skinned over. The gas lifts the paint from the surface and forms blisters. I'm a chemist and can tell that this is just a terrible product and was not field tested properly. I am incredibly angry.

I have always liked Behr products but this is just very, very bad. Do not use it.

Product or Service Mentioned: Behr Paint.

Monetary Loss: $500.

It should wash off with water.
