Behr - Looked beautiful, I "thought" then Problems
I initially put Smooth Deck Over on my small 8x5 deck. The wood was 5 years old, so I cleaned it with Behr # 63 wood cleaner, let it totally dry (it was a hot summer) no rain for 10 plus days.
On the 5th day after being thoroughly dry, I applied the first coat. The next day I applied a second coat. It looks good, but upon a close inspection yesterday I noticed that my railing & steps looked like bubbles (raised paint) I touched it and it peeled off. What I saw after then scraping it off and removing all the deck over(as much as would come off easily) I noticed that my steps were starting to ROT as was my railing.
All the wood was wet underneath. It seems as if the Deck Over holds moisture in and rots the wood.
Reason of review: Did not stand and ruined my wood steps which need to be replaced.
Monetary Loss: $300.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Yup. Traps moisture and rots the wood.
For almost ten years now. And they're still selling all that they can make. Amazing isn't it. But as long as people flock to Home depot because Consumer Reports magazine rates them "#1" they will keep on selling it.
Just like all the other *** behr paint they sell. Until people wake up and realize what a scam Behr and Home depot have going on it will continue.
