Pissed Consumer Interviews ?

Video interviews are designed to showcase real customer experiences with a variety of companies. They give consumers a chance to tell their side of the story and expand upon their original complaint posted to PissedConsumer.com

I contacted Behr and they will only allow $400 to cover paint remover and nothing to even redo my deck which is another $400 alone. Then I have had a pacemaker put in since that time and unable to redo the deck myself---which I thought I wouldn't have to do again since I am almost 80. I now have estimates of $2400 to repair, strip and redo my deck properly with another brand of waterproofing stain. Since I am retired, this is a cost that shouldn't have happened due to their defective products and I shouldn't have to suffer this loss. I even went to see the manager of Home Depot to see if I could at least get reimbursed for my purchase, but no luck since he just referred me back to Behr.

I applied Deckover to my 3 decks totaling nearly 1000 sq. Ft 2 years ago. It peeled the first year and I touched it up. Now it looks much worse and is peeling everywhere. There is seemingly no remedy for this yet they continue to sell the product. This is unconscionable. I wasted my time and money on the stripping, prep and application. I am very unhappy with Behr. I would at the very least appreciate a refund of the costs and compensation for my labor and materials. Also I would be happy to participate in a class action suit. I have contacted Behr first by phone but they steered my to the website as they said the customer service number is disconnected.
We bought 6 gallons of the product and the 20 year old deck looked pretty darn good...until after winter. The product is blistering and peeling big time off the deck and the yard is a mess. I've got a deck now that looks awful and dried deck over paint strips and...

I sent the CEO a four foot by six inch of peeled paint (it just kept peeling off) in hope of hearing what he had to say about the problem and his companies analysis. Not surprisingly I never heard from him.

Horrible company. Use Sherwin Williams Super Deck paint and...

I've seen many complaints about this Behr product over the past couple of years. Not too sure what, exactly you want Behr to do other than offer to replace the product.

They have no idea how you prepared the deck for application nor what environmental and/or structural/landscape conditions you have. The problems you describe are usually caused by moisture invasion of the deck, either from the ground or otherwise.

In a situation such as yours I would hire someone to take off the bad finish and prepare it for a new application, but use a different brand and see what happens in the next few years. If you get the same results you will know the product most likely is not at fault but something else.

I’m not sure why my loss says $3! I clearly stated $2,500 just minutes ago. This is bogus if you’re going to change my answers after I enter an answer.

Bought 15 gal of flat ceiling paint and have to repaint most due to flashing. Sums it up

I'm happy to say that after a call to Behr to complain about deck stain peeling after one winter, they reimbursed me the entire cost of staining, plus the $200 it cost me to have someone sand it. I can now hire someone again with that money and restain at my leisure. ...

HAHA! They're going to sand it for you!

That's hysterical! This is what you get for falling for the advertising hype.

Behr products are cheap products made to be sold by a discount home improvement warehouse store. What did you expect?

this is what happens when people believe mass marketing companies like Behr. All of their products are substandard. All you are really paying for is the marketing.
